In France’s Paris, the Notre Dame Cathedral is officially opening tonight with dozens of world leaders attending the event.
Notre Dame has been under reconstruction since 2019 — after a devastating fire hitting the roof of the ancient cathedral. As vowed by authorities, it was restored within five years.
About 50 leaders of state and government gathered for the opening of the reconstructed cathedral in Paris, including U.S. President-elect Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Zelensky. For Trump, this will be his first foreign visit after winning the U.S. presidential election.
The first mass in the cathedral is scheduled for December 8.
