The Ukrainian authorities continue dialogue with all Churches in the country. However, this does not apply to the Moscow Church, whose time has come to an end.
This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelensky, RBC-Ukraine reports with reference to his speech in the Verkhovna Rada.
The President spoke about the policy regarding the Church and religious organizations.
“Provided that the secular character of government institutions is preserved, we have and can develop a partnership between the state and the Church, between the state and religious communities,” Zelensky said.
According to him, there is a globally important institutional example of such cooperation in Ukraine – the Council of Churches and Religious Organizations, and on the basis of this institution a dialogue between the state and all religious communities of Ukraine has been formed.
As part of this dialogue, it is possible to determine “what models of greater cooperation are capable of strengthening Ukraine and Ukrainians, our spiritual independence and social work in the Ukrainian state,” Zelensky said.
“Of course, we are not talking about the Moscow Church. The time of those who sanctify terror is over,” he said.
