Primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, Metropolitan Epifaniy, visited the Ostroh Academy National University on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the revival of the educational facility.
According to the press service of OCU, on October 20, Metropolitan Epifaniy held a meeting with the faculty and students. The event was also attended by Metropolitan Hilarion of Rivne and Ostroh and Archpriest Vasyl Zhukovsky, rector of the academic temple.
During the meeting, the current challenges, issues of national unity and the role of youths in the development of independent Ukraine were discussed. Metropolitan Epifaniy answered numerous questions from the teaching staff and students of the academy.
At the end of the meeting, the Rector of the University, Professor Ihor Pasichnyk thanked the Primate of OCU for the important dialogue with the youth and presented him with the medal of Prince Vasyl-Kostiantyn of Ostroh.
The visit of Metropolitan Epifaniy became an important part of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the restoration of the educational process at the Ostroh Academy, one of the oldest educational institutions in Ukraine.
