The Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the USA has delivered food and nutritional support to over 300 families, particularly focusing on the elderly and children from displaced families.
That’s according to the church’s press service.
“This noble endeavor, carried out under the blessing of His Eminence Metropolitan Antony – the Spiritual father of the UOC of the USA, showcases the profound impact of spiritual leadership and charitable action in times of crisis,” the report reads.
The distribution of vital food supplies is overseen by Archbishop Daniel of the UOC of the USA through his collaboration with Metropolitan Serhiy of Donetsk of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.
Metropolitan Serhiy, alongside his team of dedicated volunteers, not only acquires but also supervises the distribution of these food kits, ensuring that the aid reaches those who need it most.
“Today, over 300 families received help from our Donetsk diocese of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine. For two weeks, we provide food kits due to the financial support of the leadership of the UOC of the USA under the patronage of Archbishop Daniel,” Metropolitan Serhiy said. “Unfortunately, Russian terrorists continue to destroy Ukrainian cities and villages… People are forced to leave their dilapidated houses and seek shelter in safer places. Every day, there are more forced migrants. Therefore, the priority is to support the Ukrainians in need.”
To support these ongoing humanitarian efforts and to aid the people of Ukraine, the UOC of the USA has established a charitable humanitarian fund. Donations to this fund are a vital lifeline, enabling the continuation of these essential services and providing much-needed relief to countless families.
