Archon of Ecumenical Patriarchate promotes Greek vacations for children from war-torn Ukraine

On the initiative of the archon of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, Vasilis P. Boubouras, and with the support of various organizations, 96 Ukrainian children received the blessed opportunity to travel to Greece, the cradle of Orthodoxy, for a recreational trip.

The Federation of Greek Societies of Ukraine, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Greece, the Boubouras Foundation Charitable Organization and the Greek-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry joined forces in this God-pleasing cause. Among the invited children are those whose military parents are in captivity or sacrificed their lives for Ukraine, as well as children from front-line territories and large families.

For two weeks, the children will be in the Agios Andreas (St. Andrew) camp in Athens, where they will be able not only to rest, but also to get a touch of Greece’s Orthodox shrines.

Vasilis P. Boubouras, archon of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, emphasized the spiritual significance of the initiative: “This act of Christian mercy and support from our Greek brothers and sisters in Christ inspires and gives children not only positive emotions, but also an opportunity to strengthen their faith. We are deeply grateful to everyone who joined this good cause!”

This act is a vivid example of how church leaders and believers from different countries unite to provide spiritual and material support to those in need. It not only gives children an opportunity to rest, but also strengthens spiritual ties between the Orthodox communities of Ukraine and Greece.

May the Lord bless all the participants of this noble initiative and give Ukrainian children unforgettable impressions on the holy Greek land.
