    First Orthodox parish in Estonia quits Moscow Patriarchate’s jurisdiction

    The first Orthodox parish in Estonia voted to leave the Russian Orthodox Church, Blagovest reports with reference to Postimees.

    According to the publication, the first Estonian Orthodox parish, the name of which has not been specified, voted to withdraw from under the jurisdiction of the Moscow Patriarchate.

    The decision on the further status of the Estonian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate (EPC MP) should be made by the parishes before the end of May. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Estonia continues negotiations with individual parishes on the issue, the outlet adds.
