On April 26, the Primate of the Autocephalous Ukrainian Orthodox Church attended a festive event for children with disabilities, organized at the Kyiv Orthodox Theological Academy with the participation of the Center for Comprehensive Rehabilitation for Children and Youths with Disabilities in the Obolon District of Kyiv.
The Metropolitan was accompanied by Archpriest Serhii Berezhnoi, who is in charge of the Center, reports the OCU press service.
Metropolitan Epifaniy watched children with special needs perform, spoke with them and their parents, and took part in the joint making of Easter decorations.
“We are always happy to support special children, and especially now, during difficult trials. It is our duty, no matter what, to give children love and joy and help them overcome difficulties caused by the disease. So, on the eve of the greatest holiday – the Bright Resurrection of Christ – I’d like to wish you God’s help and Easter joy. After all, the more we share our love with our neighbors, especially with children, the more love the Lord gives us,” said the head of OCU.
