Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv and All Ukraine addressed the faithful of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine with words of hope and consolation.
The bishop reminded on Facebook about the miraculous signs that the Lord gave to the world through the coming of God to us in the flesh. In particular, about the miraculous healings performed by Jesus. The Metropolitan emphasized that even today, in difficult times of war and pandemic, the Lord has mercy on those who believe in Him.
“It would be wrong to deny the very fact of the existence of miracles – because the Lord has repeatedly shown them to us. We know of the miracles of healing that the Savior performed, we know that the Lord repeatedly performed miracles through His faithful ones through prayer. And even many of us have witnessed His miracles and His Divine help during our lifetime,” said the address of the OCU primate.
Metropolitan Epifaniy noted that every miracle we witness is not magic or sorcery, not a coincidence, but an embodiment of God’s mercy, which He so generously bestows upon us. Therefore, every miracle has an instructive character.
“So we should not only thank our Father for His beneficence, but also learn from every miracle we witness, to continuously improve and grow – so that we ourselves may become those through whom the Lord will benefit, performing His miracles,” concluded the head of the OCU.
