On October 7, 2023, the monk Terentiy (Dmitriev), a resident of the men’s monastery in honor of the New Martyrs and Confessors of the Church of the Russian Alapaev Eparchy (Ekaterinburg Metropolis, Russian Federation), died in the war in Ukraine.
This was reported by the website of the Moscow Patriarchate.
It is noted that the monk Terentiy (Valery Dmitriev) comes from the city of Alapaevsk, Sverdlovsk region.
It is also reported that in October 2022, the inhabitant of the monastery “voluntarily deployed to the front, where he was involved in evacuating the wounded from the battlefield.”
It should be recalled that the Russian Orthodox Church’s support for the war in Ukraine leads to its isolation from the Christian world.
