The vicar of the Holy Intercession Monastery of Rubaniv, which is part of the Dnipro Diocese of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU), Archimandrite Vasyliy (Pyshnyi) was awarded by the Commander of the Joint Forces, Lieutenant General Serhiy Nayev, for the “years of fruitful activity for the benefit of the Ukrainian state and on the occasion of the 80th anniversary”.

Archimandrite Vasiliy (Pishnyi) is a pious elder who is well known not only in Ukraine, but far beyond its borders. Under his leadership, the large Rubaniv community immediately after the OCU received he Tomos of autocephaly was the first to enter the bosom of the United Local Ukrainian Church. Currently, under his wise spiritual tutelage is the Holy Intercession Men’s Monastery. Thanks to the efforts of Archimandrite Vasiliy, prayers are raised in the monastery for the people of Ukraine and its Army, the number of brothers is increasing, and the monastery itself has become a place of peace and spiritual consolation for thousands of pilgrims who come to this holy place from different parts of Ukraine every day to receive advice from the Rubaniv elder.
After the end of the Divine Liturgy in the Church of the Holy Intercession of the Rubaniv Monastery, during which prayer requests were voiced for the defenders of Ukraine, for the Ukrainian people, for the speedy liberation of the country from the invasion of foreigners, by order of Lieutenant General Serhiy Nayev, Archimandrite Vasiliy (Pyshny) was granted the Commander’s Award of the Joint Forces “For honor and victory” 1st degree. Archimandrite Vasiliy also read a congratulatory address from the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (OCU), His Beatitude Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv and All Ukraine. The award and congratulatory address were presented by the vicar of the Garrison Temple of the Ukrainian Armed Forces with the OCU’s Kyiv Metropolis, military chaplain Borys Kutovyi.
