    UNESCO mission arrives in Odesa to assess damage from Russian strikes

    On Saturday, July 29, the mission of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) arrived in Odesa to assess the damage Russia’s missile strikes caused to cultural and religious objects on July 19-23, the Odesa City Council reported on Telegram.

    “The work has started. The mission will record the consequences of the Russian attacks, document everything,” said Odesa Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov.

    On July 23, the Russian Federation committed yet another act of vandalism, shelling Odesa and damaging 25 monuments of national and local importance, including cultural heritage in the city center. On July 20, other historical buildings across the city were damaged during a Russian strike.
