On July 26, His Beatitude Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv and All Ukraine met with Minister of Education and Science Oksen Lisovyi. The meeting took place at the residence of the head of the OCU on the territory of St. Michael’s Golden-Top Monastery.
According to the OCU website, the parties discussed the issues of education and moral and patriotic education as critical elements in resisting Russian aggression, as well as various media and informational challenges.
It was also about deepening cooperation between the ministry and the Church in the training of military and medical chaplains. Metropolitan Epifaniy discussed with Oksen Lisovyi the current religious situation in general.
“The most important thing now is the support for our soldiers – defenders, at the same time, work in the church field, in educational, cultural, informational and other spheres is also very important. After all, this is our very identity that the Ukrainian army protects on the front lines every day,” the OCU press service quoted the archpastor as saying.
Concluding the meeting, the parties exchanged souvenirs.
It is worth recalling that on the same day, Metropolitan Epifaniy also handed mandates to the military chaplains with the OCU.
