The security service neutralized the sabotage operations of yet another Kyiv-based anti-Ukrainian religious blogger, who had been spreading Kremlin narratives and organizing sham “protest actions”.
The person in question is the deputy head of the pro-Russian organization “United Fatherland” and a member of the religious and political organization of the ROC “Union of Orthodox Brotherhoods of Ukraine.”
According to the investigation, he was one of the organizers of the provocations on the premises of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra in late March 2023. The suspect incited people to mass riots and gave interviews, baselessly accusing Ukraine of unleashing the war, reports LB.ua with reference to the SBU press service.
He also recorded and broadcast his destructive speeches on the “Holy Rus” YouTube channel, which has more than 23,000 subscribers. After the full-scale invasion, he publicly supported the aggressive policy of Russia’s top military-political leadership and justified the capture of Ukrainian territories.
At the request of the Security Service of Ukraine, the court ruled to remand the suspect in custody. An investigation is ongoing to establish all the circumstances of the crime. The perpetrator faces up to 8 years in prison.
