In Kherson region, OCU priest seriously injured by Russian shelling

On the morning of April 21 in Beryslav, due to shelling from the opposite bank of the Dnipro River, the abbot of the OCU’s local community of the Resurrection of Christ, Father Georgy Khilchuk, was seriously wounded. Doctors were forced to amputate his right eye.

This is stated on Facebook by the Kherson Diocese of the OCU, RISU reports.

Father George is 32 years old.

During the occupation, the invaders turned his temple into a barracks. Therefore, he had to hold services in his own house.

Immediately after the medics rushed his wounded man to the hospital, there were more hits in the area. One of them seriously damaged the cleric’s home.

Local residents believe that the hit was targeted and aimed at destroying the clergyman’s house and the community’s place of prayer.
