As part of the visit to Ukraine, U.S. Presidents Joseph Biden, accompanied by his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky, visited St. Michael’s Golden-Domed Cathedral, where the two leaders were met by His Beatitude Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv and All Ukraine.
The Primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine thanked Joe Biden for the support that he, the people and government of the United States provide to Ukraine in the fight against Russian aggression. During the conversation, Biden mentioned his previous visit to Kyiv and the visit to the St. Michael’s Monastery, as well as the meeting with Bishop Epifaniy in Washington in September 2018, according to the OCU press service.
Wrapping up the visit, the head of the OCU wished the president and people of America God’s blessing.
Next, at the Memorial Wall outside the St. Michael’s Monastery, the presidents of the USA and Ukraine honored the Ukrainian soldiers who perished fighting off Russia’s onslaught.
The U.S. president noted that he is glad to visit Kyiv again.
