Truth will win, but we have to fight – Epifaniy wishes Ukrainians a Merry Christmas

The event of the Nativity of Christ teaches us that the truth will win, but we have to fight. The Son of God defeated evil, proving that there can be no unity between darkness and light, that evil and good cannot coexist peacefully. True peace can only be achieved through defeating evil.

This is stated in a Christmas address by the head of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, Metropolitan Epifaniy.

    Christ was born!

Dear brothers and sisters, I heartily congratulate you, your families and friends on the holiday of Christmas!

“God is with us!” – such words are heard in churches on Christmas Eve. Today they sound special for each of us. After all, confidence in the close presence of God and prayers to Him support the spirit of our defenders and our entire nation, bringing the victory of truth closer.

Today, the warmest prayers and wishes are heard for the heroes, our defenders, who defend us at the cost of their own lives. I wish that we will achieve the victory as soon as possible and the long-awaited peace for Ukraine will come. And that all our compatriots return home along with it.

I wish that the joy of Christmas fills hearts with love for God and neighbors, inspiring endurance and stability in the fight against evil!

Christ was born! Let’s praise Him!
