On December 6, 2022, His Beatitude Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv and All Ukraine received at his residence – the Metropolitan House -Ukrainian volunteers and chaplains who help wounded defenders at the National Military Medical Clinical Center of the Ministry of Defense.
The rector of the hospital temple in honor of the Intercession of the Holy Mother of God, military chaplain Archpriest Oleh Sknar, also took part in the meeting, the OCU press service reports.
The Primate of the Autocephalous Ukrainian Orthodox Church talked with the guests and awarded the volunteers with “Cross of Freedom” medals for their sacrificial service to preserve God’s gift of freedom and independence.
“Practically every conscientious Ukrainian is now a volunteer. Everyone does everything according to their strengths and capabilities, and together we form a single whole and a great driving force that gives impetus. And I am convinced that we will win this war,” said Metropolitan Epifaniy.
