    Chernihiv City Council accepts appeal on banning Moscow Patriarchate

    The City Council of Chernihiv accepted an appeal regarding the immediate ban of the Church of the Moscow Patriarchate.

    People’s Deputy with the European Solidarity faction, Oleksiy Honcharenko informed about this on social media.

    “Chernihiv City Council accepted an appeal regarding the immediate ban of the ‘church’ run  by the FSB in Ukraine! The head of the party’s city organization sets an example to everyone. Thank you for your position,” the statement reads.

    Recently, the Lviv Regional Council called on the state for the second time to ban the activities of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in unity with the Moscow Patriarchate in Ukraine.

    Earlier, the Vinnytsia Regional Council appealed to the President of Ukraine, Parliament and Government with a proposal to adopt a law prohibiting the activities of the UOC in unity with the Moscow Patriarchate.

    The petition to ban the UOC in unity with the Moscow Patriarchate has gained the necessary 25,000 signatures.
