On the initiative of People’s Deputy Mykola Knyazhytskyi, the European Solidarity faction registered a draft law aimed at banning the activities of the Russian Orthodox Church on the territory of Ukraine.
This is stated on the European Solidarity’s Facebook page
The draft law foresees a complete ban on any religious organizations and institutions that are part of or recognize in any form subordination in canonical, organizational, and other matters to the Russian Orthodox Church.
It is noted that the purpose of the bill is to prevent threats to the national security of Ukraine and to ensure order, “because for too long the Russian Orthodox Church has carried out openly anti-Ukrainian and subversive activities and advocated all the actions of the criminal Russian regime.”
The activities of Orthodox religious organizations in Ukraine must be carried out taking into account the Patriarchal and Synodal Tomos given to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and the Ukrainian state.
