The Stauropegion of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in Ukraine together with the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the USA are launching a humanitarian mission to help Ukrainians.
“The joint activities of the Stauropegion in Ukraine and the UOC of the USA will be directed toward the implementation of urgent humanitarian and social projects for the benefit of Ukraine and the Ukrainian people, who are suffering from the Russian military invasion,” says the statement on the page of the Mission “Stauropegion of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in Ukraine.”
After Russia’s full-scale military invasion of Ukraine, the hierarchs of the UOC of the USA discussed with Patriarch Bartholomew the issue of coordinating efforts to help Ukraine and began the delivery of humanitarian aid to Ukraine.
The UOC of the USA purchased and handed over a hundred ambulance vehicles and vans to help the injured Ukrainians.
As of June 20, 2022, the UOC of the USA has collected $2.8 million to help Ukrainians. The UOC of the USA’s aid is distributed in the following cities: Kharkiv, Lutsk, Kyiv, Yavoriv, Lviv, Odesa, Sumy, Siverodonetsk, Dnipro, Mariupol, Irpin, Bucha, Vasylkiv, Vorzel, and o
