In Irpin, Kyiv region, a commemorative sign dedicated to the Territorial Defense Force was erected in honor of volunteer soldiers.
This was announced by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook.
“In honor of the volunteer soldiers who were the first to defend the town of Irpin and did everything to expel the enemy from the north of Kyiv region, municipal authorities installed the memorial sign, first in Ukraine, in honor of the Territorial Defense Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” the statement reads.
The memorial sign was opened next to the Intercession Church, run by the OCU, which had also been damaged by Russian shelling.
Opposite is the Alley of Heroes of the Anti-Terrorist Operation, which was opened a few years ago in honor of the people of Irpin who died in battles with the enemy in Donbas.
It should be recalled that the OCU head, Metropolitan Epifaniy, earlier met with the head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, Serhiy Haidai.
