On August 18, the Primate of the Autocephalous Ukrainian Orthodox Church met with the Mayor of Irpin, Oleksandr Markushyn. During the meeting, the parties discussed the current situation in the region and Ukraine as a whole in the context of a full-scale Russian invasion, as well as the religious and inter-confessional situation.
This was reported by the press service of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.
As a result, a common conviction was affirmed that the principle of religious communities changing their own confessional affiliation is the peaceful, free and legal implementation of the process.
