Seven religious communities across Chernihiv region have joined the Orthodox Church of Ukraine since the full-scale Russian invasion.
This was reported by the Chief of the Culture, Tourism, Nationalities and Religions Department of the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, Liudmyla Zamai, Cheline wrote.
According to the official, in addition to these seven communities, which have already shifted to the OCU, two religious communities have filed the relevant applications that are now being considered by local authorities.
In addition, there are several communities that are also drafting their respective applications for legal fixation of their confessional subordination to the OCU. The main reason for the transition is the reluctance of parishioners to support the UOC of the Moscow Patriarchate.
