On International Children’s Day, the Orthodox Church of Ukraine prays especially for little Ukrainians, girls and boys, who learned about the war not from history classes or movies as they, unfortunately, became direct witnesses and, worst of all, victims of this war.
This was reported by Metropolitan Epifaniy on Facebook.
“Russia has deprived Ukrainian children of the happy, peaceful childhood that everyone deserves. Many of them suffered the fate of martyrs. Many children sustained serious physical and psychological injuries. Many have lost their loved ones, parents, brothers, and sisters. And almost every Ukrainian child now knows what shelling, explosions, and sirens are, what fear, losses, forcible relocations and uncertainty about the future are,” the hierarch stressed.
“I pray to God for His care and mercy for the children. May He protect their lives from cruelty and evil, and their hearts – from despair and hopelessness,” the Metropolitan of Kyiv and All Ukraine concluded.
