Commander of the Ukrainian Navy’s 36th Marine Brigade Serhiy Volynskyi (call sign Volyna), who alongside other Ukrainian soldiers is defending the Azovstal steelworks in Mariupol, expressed hope that a solution for their rescue would eventually be found. Today, the Ukrainian Mariupol garrison is in a “hellish reality show,” watched online by the whole world.
The commander made the statement on Facebook, Novynarnia reports.
“It’s just my thoughts. What do I feel?
It seems as if I found myself in some hellish reality show, where we, the military, are fighting for our lives, using every chance to survive, while the whole world is just watching an amusing story unfold! Such scripts are used in movies and TV series. The only difference is that this is not a movie, and we are not fictional characters! This is real life! Pain, suffering, hunger, torment, tears, fear, and death – all is real!
What surprises me?
Cynicism!!! Human cynicism has no limits!!! There are generally accepted rules, they are the same for everyone, certified by a bunch of laws, signatures and seals, but they don’t work! Then why would anyone need them anyway?
What do I hope for?
A miracle!!! For the higher powers (in the broadest sense of the word) to find a solution for our rescue! And for this hellish reality show to end…
Higher powers, we are waiting for you to deliver… Time is running out, and time is our lives!
MARINES – ALLEGIENCE FOREVER!
GLORY TO UKRAINE!” The officer wrote.
He also once again denied the propagandists’ reports about the alleged “surrender” of the military at the Azovstal. According to Volyna, white flags seen in some reports were used every time Ukrainian soldiers accompanied civilians who were set to evacuate.
Volynsky reminded that “the price of the latest evacuation is three KIAs and six WIAs.”
