The month of temporary occupation of Bucha, Irpin, Hostomel, and surrounding villages by Russian troops led not only to the massive destruction of beautiful newly built residential areas, playgrounds, hospitals, and other social facilities, but also to the total extermination of civilians in the region. Every country in the world must recognize the genocide of the Ukrainian people during the Russian invasion in 2022 and condemn the ideology of the ‘Russian world.’”
That’s according to a statement by the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches.
Leaders of Ukrainian churches condemn actions of Russian soldiers in Ukraine:
“There is evidence that Russian soldiers abused Ukrainian women and even children who, after being gang raped, including in front of their relatives, were shot and thrown into mass graves or simply left on the street. Hundreds, perhaps thousands, of innocent Ukrainians were tortured and killed in the weeks of Russian occupation.
Such a horrible bloody trail of the Russian occupiers on Ukrainian lands, as well as the support of their mothers, wives and the general public in Russia for their misanthropic actions, is evidence of a complete distortion of worldview and moral degradation of Russian society. War crimes and crimes against humanity in Ukraine are convincing arguments in favor of comprehensive and non-exclusive sanctions against the Russian economy in all its sectors, and should finally urge world leaders, NATO and the EU to provide Ukraine with all the necessary weapons to defeat Russia as a terrorist state, including air defense, fighter jets, lethal offensive weapons, tanks, and anti-ship missiles.”
Spiritual leaders of Ukraine emphasize that the whole world must realize that this is not a “Ukrainian crisis,” this is not even a “Russian war against Ukraine” – this is a war of humanity, moral values, and virtue against concentrated evil, which has a satanic fascist nature.
“The cult of war and chauvinism have been glorified for decades in Russian society, which has worshiped the war, built a temple in Moscow, and is now justifying new sacrifices to its bloody idol with the slogan ‘We can repeat that.’”
“None of the nations should be silent! Every nation in the world must recognize the genocide of the Ukrainian people during the Russian invasion in 2022 and condemn the ideology of the ‘Russian world as justifying the genocide of peoples and the destruction of entire states,” urged Ukraine’s spiritual leaders.
