On the morning of Wednesday, March 23, Russian terrorists abducted the head of the Kherson Regional Music and Drama Theater and a deputy of the Kherson Regional Council, Oleksandr Knyha.
This was announced by Minister of Culture and Information Policy Oleksandr Tkachenko.
“Russian terrorists abducted the founder of one of the most famous international theater festivals in Ukraine, ‘The Tavria Melpomene.’ We call on the world cultural community to make every possible and impossible effort to release him as soon as possible! The whole world must be aware of what’s happening!” said the Minister.
This is not the first abduction committed by Russcists in southern Ukraine. One of the first to be abducted was the mayor of Melitopol, who was later exchanged for a group of captured Russian soldiers.
