In most regions of Ukraine, the night of March 7 was rather quiet. Russian troops fired on civilian targets in Zhytomyr region and attacked Chernihiv, while the Ukrainian Armed Forces managed to liberate Chuhuiv, Kharkiv region.
In particular, no strikes were reported in Kirovohrad, Volyn, Rivne, Cherkasy, Lviv, Bukovyna, Prykarpattia, Ternopil, Odesa, and Zakarpattia regions. In other regions, the developments are as follows:
Kherson
The night was quiet. The region is under occupation. Many villages are left without electricity, gas, water, food, and medicine. A green corridor is needed.
Zhytomyr region
In the evening, the northern part of the region came under fire. The civilian infrastructure in the towns of Ovruch, Malyn, Korosten, and Vyazivka, Korosten district, was destroyed. The air strikes hit private households, the premises of the Employment Center, while one of the missiles exploded just outside a local school.
Zaporizhia region
Near the settlements of Huliaipole, Orikhiv, and in the direction of Vasylivka-Balabino, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are conducting a defensive operation. Polohy, Vasylivka, and Tokmak are temporarily occupied.
The nuclear power plant remains under the control of the invaders.
Vinnytsia region
The night was relatively calm. Air raid alarms – from 5:30.
Khmelnytskyi region
Quiet. Air raid alarms.
Regarding yesterday’s strikes on the Starokostiantyniv airfield: Three injured, 1 killed.
Chernihiv region
In Chernihiv, thee air raid alarms this night. At night time, the Russian army chaotically shelled residential areas, including the city center, targeting random sites. They hit two schools and households. Part of the city is in blackout. Battles ongoing on the outskirts and farther across the region.
Sumy region
The night saw no air strikes. The situation in Okhtyrka and Trostianets remains difficult. A large number of Russian troops crossing in from Russia.
Poltava region
Night air raid alarms in Poltava, Lubny, and Pyriatyn
Luhansk region
The night was calm. In the morning, Severodonetsk was shelled with heavy artillery. Popasna has been under mass shelling for two days now. An evacuation train departed yesterday, carrying more than 2,000 passengers.
Donetsk region
Mariupol, Volnovakha are under siege. Battles are ongoing. In Kramatorsk, late in the evening, there was an air raid alarm. Humanitarian cargoes are heading to the region. Some have already arrived from Dnipro, Cherkasy, and Lviv.
A green corridor is needed.
Mykolaiv region
Grad MLR systems shelled Mykolaiv. In other parts of the region, the night was relatively calm.
Dnipropetrovsk region
In Dnipropetrovsk region, three air raid alarms this night. All is calm at the moment.
Kharkiv region
Air strikes on apartment blocks in various parts of the city continued throughout the night.
Kyiv region
Hostilities ongoing in the direction of Makariv-Irpin-Hostomel. Constant air raid alarms. An airstrike hit the village of Byshiv, Fastiv district.
