His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I closely follows the developments in and around Ukraine and constantly prays for peace, tranquility, and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
The Ecumenical Patriarch said this during a meeting with Ukrainian lawmakers, Consul General of Ukraine in Istanbul Roman Nedilsky wrote on Facebook.
“I will always pray for peace, tranquility, and territorial integrity of Ukraine,” Patriarch Bartholomew was quoted as saying by the Ukrainian consul.
“During the visit to Turkey, Ukrainian MPs, the Ukraine-Turkey Friendship Group, are today in Istanbul… Ukrainian lawmakers thanked His All-Holiness for the constant care and support for our nation,” the Consul General of Ukraine in Istanbul wrote in his Facebook post last week.
On January 12-13, Ukrainian legislators with the Verkhovna Rada group on inter-parliamentary relations with Turkey paid a visit to the neighboring country. The program of the visit covered two cities – Ankara and Istanbul.
