On January 15, 2022, the Kyiv Metropolis of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine announced that His Beatitude Metropolitan Epifaniy had seen his coronavirus test return positive.
It is reported that last year the head of the OCU underwent a full vaccination course.
“Due to his illness, Metropolitan Epifaniy will stay in self-isolation on outpatient treatment, and will not hold services and receive visitors over the next week,” the Kyiv Metropolis website said in a statement.
The OCU is asking the clergy and the faithful to offer prayers for the speedy recovery of His Beatitude.
