Today, November 2, 2021, marks the 30th anniversary of the enthronement of Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew at the Patriarchal Church of St. George in Phanar in 1991.
Catholicos-Patriarch of Georgia Elijah II sent a letter to Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, congratulating him on the 30th anniversary of his enthronement.
In his congratulatory letter, the Primate of the Georgian Church wrote:
“For the thirty years, you have been carrying a burden of great responsibility and honour. Being the Head of the Patriarchate of Constantinople has always been heavy and difficult. However, it has acquired a special and particular significance in our difficult times as the spiritual improvement of humankind is lagging behind the ongoing technological development throughout the world, which is not easy to cope with.
We will always remember the support you have extended to the Church of Georgia for many years and we hope that our fraternal friendship will deepen in the future.”
Concluding the letter, Elijah wished the ecumenical Patriarch good health and many years of life and success in his “high and honourable ministry.”
