A Russia-based Christian Foundation has asked President Vladimir Putin to build more mosques across the country.
That’s according to an open letter signed by the chief of the Christian Solidarity Foundation, Dmitry Pakhomov.
In the letter, Pakhomov suggested that the construction of mosques in Moscow and in certain regions of Russia would help improve relations between followers of different religions.
“Muslims are facing discrimination in Moscow, including because of the extremely small number of mosques, although Russia is one of the largest countries in the Muslim world, with a significant voice in addressing global Islamic issues,” he wrote.
