In Vinnytsia, the military presented Metropolitan Simeon of Vinnytsia and Bar with a medal “For Charitable Efforts” and issued a gratitude certificate to the eparchy. The Vinnytsia-Bar Eparchy of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine has repeatedly provided assistance to military and civilians in the Joint Forces Operation zone in Ukraine’s Donbas.
Bishop Simeon received the award on the occasion of Volunteer Day, celebrated in Ukraine on December 5, from the chief of the Vinnytsia Regional Department of the Military Law Enforcement Service, Lieutenant Colonel Vadym Moskalets.
The meeting was also attended by psychologist officer Yuri Berezovsky, the press service of the OCU’s Vinnytsia Eparchy reported.
In turn, Metropolitan Simeon congratulated the military on their professional holiday, Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, blessing them with icons of the Blessed Virgin Mary and presenting church calendars for 2022.
