A news site run by the Georgian Orthodox Church recently ran a survey among its audience on the issue of the autocephaly of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine in the context of the GOC attitude to it.
The question read: “In your opinion, should the Georgian Orthodox Church recognize the autocephaly (church independence) of the Ukrainian Church?”
A total of 85% of readers (193 people) voted for having the Georgian Church support the OCU autocephaly. Another 15% of readers stood against the idea.
It should be recalled that earlier, a Georgian theologian reflected on how the Serbian Church had received its autocephaly from the Ecumenical Patriarchate. We also reported on yet another “invasion” by the ROC of the Georgian Church’s jurisdiction.
