Bringing victory closer through fervent prayer voiced by millions of hearts in our temples – Metropolitan Epifaniy

Our successful resistance to Russian aggression has been going strong for a month now. However, in fact, we have to complete the struggle against Russian imperial tyranny, which began more than a century ago. We are completing the work we started back then – we are creating a Ukraine free from Muscovy chains. Ideological chains, political chains, religious chains.

The Primate of the OCU emphasized this in his address to Ukrainians on March 24.

“During this month of open aggression, as well as all previous eight years of Russia’s undeclared war against Ukraine, our Church has constantly emphasized: the truth is on the side of our people and our state. And where truth is, there is the Lord. And where the Lord is, there is victory! We believe in God, so we believe in victory, we bring it closer with cohesion, mutual support, sacrifice, which is manifested in the defense of the state with weapons in arms and in the service to others. We are also approaching victory with the fervent prayer, which flows every day, every hour, in our temples, pouring from hundreds of thousands and millions of hearts to God and the saints. This prayer is for the Ukrainian Army and our state, for those who are suffering from shelling by Russian murderers, for refugees. Our prayer is for victory and peace in Ukraine. Our prayer is for eternal peace in the Kingdom of Heaven for the souls of Ukrainian soldiers and civilians whose lives were taken by Russian murderers. Our prayer is also about the unity of the Orthodox Church,” the address of the OCU primate reads.

The Metropolitan is convinced that the Ukrainians have already won in moral terms. And thanks to the indomitable spirit and support of the free world, we will expel the enemy from our land.
