Religious pundit: ROC head’s rhetoric “apology for death and war”

The rhetoric of the Moscow Patriarch Kirill (Gundyaev) is an apology for death and war, not a Christian sermon, not a sermon of love, goodness, or any values.

Religious scholar Ihor Kozlovskyi stated this on the air of Freedom TV.

“There is a shift of concepts where the Church no longer preaches Christ, but in fact promotes the ideological postulates of the so-called ‘Russian world,’” he added.

As a result of the Russian invasion, about 500 religious buildings were damaged or destroyed in Ukraine, of which 70% cannot be restored. In addition to religious buildings, Ukraine is losing its people. According to Kozlovskyi, many prayer houses, synagogues, mosques and places of worship of various denominations have been destroyed in Ukraine.

“We are not only losing a large number of religious buildings of various purposes, we are losing people, in fact, the religious map and landscape of Ukraine is changing due to massive migration, and especially it’s the religious minorities that are suffering. For Russia, this is not some special sign that somehow affects their own image: if they even shelled and destroyed the buildings of the same Holy Dormition Lavra on the territory of Donetsk region, and this, in fact, is one of the strongholds, as one might say, of their ‘Russian world.’ Monks were killed there but it absolutely did not stop the Russian occupiers because, in fact, there is no religiosity in them,” said Kozlovskyi.

It is important to understand that every person has the right to their opinion and religion. However, if this opinion is expressed as advocating violence and war, this cannot be tolerated. It is unacceptable for religious leaders to do this.

It should be recalled that a few days ago, Patriarch Kirill once again supported the occupation of Ukraine and handed over the icons to the invaders.
