Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin will take part in the Global Summit on Peace in Ukraine scheduled to be held in Switzerland on June 15-16.

“The Vatican has been represented as an observer at other similar meetings before, and this time it will be represented by the Secretary of State,” the press service of the Holy See said.
Earlier, the papal envoy to Ukraine, head of the Conference of Italian bishops, Cardinal Matteo Zuppi, expressed hope that the meeting will become a platform for preparing further steps toward achieving peace. In his opinion, everyone without exception should take concrete steps to this end.
