On Sunday, October 22, the XII Ukrainian World Congress was held, where the election of its new leadership was on the agenda. About 300 delegates and guests from 30 countries involved in Congress were greeted by the Archbishop of the UGCC, His Beatitude Sviatoslav. He wished them to be the harbingers of truth about Ukraine’s struggle.
That’s according to the UGCC press service.
The head of the UGCC thanked UWC members for their help to their Ukrainian people during the war with the Russian invaders, which can be described by the words of the slogan “God and Ukraine”. “Your efforts,” said the Head of the UGCC, “aimed at supporting the victims of war, including forced migrants, who, as sociological polls show, already amount to millions. We appreciate your constant cooperation with our church, which has bore many good fruits for our long-suffering mother Ukraine.”
“I thank you for continuing to take care of the preservation and popularization of Ukrainian identity across the world. I very much ask you: be the hardbingers of truth about our struggle wherever you are. The world must know that Ukraine is out there, that it is fighting and praying! Apply tools available to you to expose to the world the ideology of the ‘Russian world’ which led to massive destruction and, the worst, thousands of civilian deaths in our country, ”said His Beatitude Sviatoslav.
The head of the UGCC also asked UWC members to discuss the issue of restoring in Ukraine what was barbarically destroyed. “There are many tasks you are facing,” the archpastor is convinced, “but I believe that your passion and your love for your Motherland will give you strength and inspiration to fulfill everything planned for the good of the global Ukrainian community.”
