OCU nun knits over 1,000 pairs of socks for Ukraine’s soldiers

Nun Maria of Nikopol has knitted more than 1,000 pairs of socks for Ukrainian defenders on the front lines.

This was reported by Abbot Merkuriya Skorokhod.

“In our glorious town there is a nun Maria, who prays and knits warm socks for our soldiers on the front lines every day, with the blessing of the Ruler of the Dnipropetrovsk Diocese, His Eminence Bishop Simeon. For the entire time of her holy obedience, volunteers have already taken more than 1,000 pairs of socks to the front, which she knitted with motherly love, with her own hands,” the hieromonk wrote on Facebook.

It is known that the nun Maria started knitting socks for the military at the onset of the war, in 2014. She puts her motherly love into every pair she makes.

It should be recalled that the OCU Cathedral in Kyiv handed over memorial offerings to people in the liberated territories.
