On the Holy Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos and the Day of the Ukraine Defender, which is celebrated on August 14, the primate of the UOC (in unity with the Moscow Patriarchate) Metropolitan Onufriy blessed UOC-MP clerics to perform prayers for the living’s health and for the fallen Ukrainian soldiers to rest in peace.
That’s according to the Informational and Educational Department of the UOC-MP.
Metropolitan Onufriy sent the letter with his blessing to all diocesan hierarchs.
“July 14 is the Day of Ukraine Defender,” the letter says. “In this regard, at all churches and monasteries entrusted to your eparchy, you are blessed to say prayers for the living’s health and for the fallen defenders of Ukraine to rest in peace.”
