Access to the truth in the areas controlled by Russian proxy forces will be increasingly difficult to find. The leader of the “DPR” terrorist organization Denys Pushylin said that Google had been blocked in the territory of the temporarily occupied areas of Donetsk region.
This is reported by Russian propaganda agency RIA Novosti, according to the Information Resistance OSINT group.
“There is actual harassment of Russians, on whom lies and disinformation are being imposed. At the forefront of information technology in this regard is the Google search engine, which openly promotes terrorism and violence against all Russians, and especially the population of Donbas, by order of its handlers from the American government,” said the terrorist.
Previously, Leonid Pasichnik, the leader of the “LPR” terrorist organization, also accused Google of promoting terrorism and extremism. He said that the occupied territory of Luhansk region “can do without Google.” According to Russian media, local residents have already found themselves without access to Google.
As early as July 18, Pushilin received an order from Moscow handlers who, referring to the decision of their media watchdog Roskomnadzor, demanded to block the Google Search service for residents of the occupied parts of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. In the accompanying letter, it was stated that “from Google, residents receive a lot of lies about the situation in Russia, the progress of the special operation, and the losses of Russian troops, and also gain access to Ukrainian propaganda.”
In view of this, “the authorities of the “LPR” and “DPR” must issue regulations on the need to restrict access to the above-mentioned service by July 21, 2022” (by analogy with the blocking of the Viber messenger).
It should be recalled that, as of July 22, Russia lost about 39,000 of its military personnel in Ukraine. Also, the occupiers are intensifying filtration measures in Mariupol.
