On May 29, the head of the OCU, Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv and All Ukraine, called the restoration of St. Michael’s Golden-Domed Church in Kyiv a “special sign” of God’s blessing for the Church in Ukraine.
“Today we honor the restoration of St. Michael’s Golden-Domed Cathedral and congratulate our capital, Kyiv. Restoration of this church from the ruins, which was destined to play an important role in the recent history of Ukraine several times, is one of the signs of God’s blessing for our Church. What seemed impossible became a reality. What was only a dream came true. And this should inspire us to continue our struggle and work. After all, we believe that the current dream of achieving victory over the aggressor and a just peace, the dream of overcoming divisions among the Orthodox – also, with God’s help – will become a reality,” said the Metropolitan, quoted by the press service of the OCU.
He noted that Ukrainians are celebrating the current Anniversary of Kyiv in the special conditions of the war waged by Russia.
“Therefore, we thank God, we thank our courageous soldiers-defenders who saved our capital from the invasion of the latest mad horde. May the Lord continue to protect our Kyiv from the invasion of foreigners, and may His Archangel Michael be a quick helper for all those who fight evil,” said the Metropolitan.
It should be recalled that Metropolitan Epifaniy is convinced that the UOC-MP Council has not changed anything and that they continue to remain united with the murderer Cyril of the ROC. Metropolitan Epifaniy also visited Chernihiv and handed over construction materials to restore the city’s damaged and destroyed housing stock.
