The invaders have already deported to Russia more than 1.185 million Ukrainians, first seeding them out through filtration camps. This was announced by the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Liudmyla Denisova, Ukrinform reports.
It’s the residents of Mariupol who are mostly taken to filtration camps. The camps are located in the temporarily occupied Donetsk and Luhansk regions. The occupiers demand three certificates from the locals to move freely through the occupied territories. The first is that the person has gone through filtration. The second one is need to move around the city where the filtration camp is located. The third is to be able to leave town.
In these camps, people’s phones are checked to see if there have been any contacts with the military. People are also asked about their attitude to what Russia refers to as a “special military operation.” If someone fails to pass filtration, they are sent to camps in Donetsk or Dokuchaevsk. If they do pass it, they are deported to Taganrog, and then by trains across the country. Today there are more than 1.185 million of them, including more than 200,000 children.
