Invaders continue oppressing believers in occupied Crimea

In the temporarily occupied Crimea, the Russian authorities continue to persecute local believers representing various denominations. On October 23, Russia’s Investigative Committee unit for Crimea and Sevastopol forwarded to court the case of a Jehovah’s Witness representative in Dzhankoy, who is accused of orchestrating operations of an extremist organization.

This is likely about Viktor Ursa, 59 who has been under house arrest since August 2023, reports the Christians Against War outlet.

On October 21, the Southern District Military Court accepted for trial a criminal case against the sixth Bakhchisarai-based group of the Hizb ut-Tahrir organization: Memet Lyumanov, Rustem Osmanov, Aziz Azizov, and Mustafa Abduramanov.

They are accused of organizing and participating in the activities of a “terrorist” organization. The court also extended their custody remand for six months, allowing them to be convoyed from Crimea to Rostov-on-Don.

It should be recalled that the Russian puppet court in Crimea liquidated the Alushta Muslim community.
