A church abbot in Russia’s Irkutsk region posted on social media a statement in support of the “special military operation”.
One of the parishioners of his church (who turned out to be a local deputy) did not like that the church was taking someone’s side in the ongoing war, so he expressed his opinion to the priest. This was reported by Russian Telegram channels.
But he never succeeded in convincing the priest. The deputy allegedly became upset and declared that he wanted to see the Ukrainian Army march on Moscow’s Red Square, lit a candle for Ukraine’s victory, and promptly left.
After the conversation, the father immediately turned to the FSB security service and told on the deputy.
However, the latter claims that he argued with the priest within the framework of the sacrament of confession.
