On November 14, Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv and All Ukraine arrived in the Poltava Diocese for a visit. In one of the local clinics, the OCU Primate, together with Metropolitan Fedir of Poltava and Kremenchuk, Bishop Yefrem of Vasylkiv, and chief of the Poltava Regional Military Administration, Filip Pronin, visited the wounded soldiers.
That is according to the OCU press service.
Metropolitan Epifaniy conferred church awards on the chief doctor, medics and staff of the clinic.
“Every day, without exaggeration, you are engaged in an extremely important mission – the treatment and rehabilitation of our glorious defenders. So thank you for your noble work, which is a manifestation of the highest Christian virtue – love for one’s neighbors. May the Lord send your heroic patients a speedy recovery, and give you strength, power, and patience,” Metropolitan Epifaniy said, addressing the medics.
Outside the Holy Assumption Cathedral, the OCU Primate visited the BlahoKava social cafe, where he spoke with the volunteers from the “Poltava Battalion of the Indifferent” and presented a posthumous award to the family of a fallen soldier.
On November 13, Metropolitan Epiphany received in his residence the commander of the Typhoon drone operators’ unit, Major Mykhailo Kmytiuk, deputy commander Major Pavlo Gvozdenko, and head of the military-civilian cooperation team Junior Lieutenant Liliia Stupina. Metropolitan Epifaniy handed the Ukrainian service members hurch awards and had a chat.
“At these difficult times, as invaders have come to our home to destroy us, it is very important to unite, support and inspire each other. The war rages on, and the enemy has left us no choice, because they encroach on our very right to exist. So may the Lord protect all of you and strengthen you in this just fight for our people and freedom bestowed upon us by God,” he said.
It should be recalled that Metropolitan Epifaniy also visited nine churches that had transitioned to the OCU.
