    Exarch of Ecumenical Patriarch in Ukraine takes part in prayer on Day of Ukrainian Statehood

    The Exarch of the Ecumenical Patriarch in Ukraine, Bishop Michael of Koman, at the invitation of the top leadership of Ukraine, took part in a prayer event on the occasion of the Day of Ukrainian Statehood and the Day of the Baptism of Kyivan Rus – Ukraine.

    This is reported by the Mission Stauropegium of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in Ukraine.

    The event took place in the square outside the Assumption Cathedral on the territory of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra in Kyiv. Also, the heads of Ukrainian churches and religious organizations, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, head of the OCU Metropolitan Epifaniy, Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon, chaplains, representatives from the Verkhovna Rada and Cabinet of Ministers, the head of the President’s Office and his deputies, top security and defense chiefs, and foreign diplomats also prayed for Ukraine.

    Bishop Michael, together with other religious leaders, prayed for victory and a just peace for Ukraine, as well as for protection and blessings for the Ukrainian people and soldiers.

    Also, on this day, at the invitation of the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv and All Ukraine, Exarch of the Ecumenical Patriarch together with the elder Metropolitan Emmanuel of Chalcedon celebrated the Divine Liturgy on the occasion of the Holy Baptism of Rus-Ukraine in the Assumption Cathedral of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra.
