Moscow Patriarch Kirill (Gundyaev), who blesses the Russian troops for the war against Ukraine, continues to consider the bishops of the UOC (MP) as part of the episcopate of the Russian Church.
“Today we have about 400 bishops. There has never been such a large number (of clergy) in the entire history of the Russian Church,” Gundyaev said after the Easter Great Vespers.
As Andrii Kuraev, ex-cleric of the Russian Orthodox Church, notes, such a number of bishops is possible only when the hierarchs of the UOC (MP) are added to the number of bishops of the Russian Orthodox Church.
It should be recalled that the Novovolynsk City Council deprived the UOC (MP) of its right to land plots.
People’s Deputy Nikita Poturaev said that the authorities are not fighting against religion.
