“Holy” criminals: Temple being built in Russia to immortalize Russian occupiers

Traditional war propaganda and glorification of crimes against Ukraine committed by Russian troops were not enough for the Kremlin regime. They have apparently decided to build temples in honor of war criminals.

The head of the Khabarovsk region took part in the ceremony of laying a capsule on the site of the construction of the temple-monument of “military glory” in honor of the Kazan icon of the Mother of God, dedicated to the soldiers, Khabarovsk natives, who died “protecting” Russia in all wars and conflicts, including in during the so-called “special military operation” – the war of aggression Russia is waging on Ukraine.

According to Russian media, the future temple will appear in the Chervonoflotsky district. Governor of the Khabarovsk Region, Metropolitan Artemiy of Khabarovsk and Amur Region, and acting commander of the Eastern Military District, Alexei Rtyshchev, layed a capsule with a “commemorative letter” to kick off construction.

The governor of Khabarovsk stated that the Russian Federation allegedly “chooses true values and its own path.” The head of the region expressed confidence that the new temple in honor of the occupiers will become one of the centers of the “spiritual life of the region” and “a place of prayer, peace and a real decoration of Khabarovsk.”

Artemiy, Metropolitan of Khabarovsk and Amur, is also convinced of this.

“Today, being here in the Far East, we are separated from our soldiers by thousands of kilometers, but the hearts of believers are always with them. You are building a temple where prayers will be held for the living and the late. And this is very important not only for memory, but also for the education of the younger generation,” he said.

In addition, the invaders killed in action in Ukraine are to be “immortalized” on the “memory alley.”
