Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew met on Tuesday the King of the United Kingdom Charles III, at Buckingham Palace.
That’s according to the Ecumenical Patriarchate’s press service.
During their half-hour meeting, His Holiness expressed to His Majesty his condolences for the death of his late mother Queen Elizabeth II, as well as his and the Mother Church’s warmest wishes for successful and fruitful exercise of his new high duties.
His Holiness also referred to the centenary anniversary of the establishment of the Holy Archdiocese of Thyatira and Great Britain, and they had the opportunity with His Majesty to discuss other issues of mutual interest.
Immediately after, the Ecumenical Patriarch presented to the King the members of his entourage, Rev. Archbishop of Thyatira and Great Britain Mr. Nikitas, and Rev. Metropolitans of Belgium Mr. Athenagoras and Mr. Theodoritos of Laodicea.
